Witteveen+Bos is a fully independent Dutch firm of engineering consultants. Since its establishment in 1946, the firm gradually expanded to a professional staff of about 700, working in inter-disciplinary teams in more and more countries all around the world. Currently Witteveen+Bos operates branch offices in Indonesia, Latvia and Kazakhstan and has entered in numerous joint venture agreements with local consultants on a project basis or more permanent associations have been established with firms in other countries, like Germany, Belgium, UK, Slovakia and Poland.

Depending on the nature of the project and the wishes of the client, Witteveen+Bos may be given the responsibility for an entire project, from the initial idea to maintenance management and personnel training, or can be engaged to undertake one or more phases of the project, such as:
- preparation of programme of requirements, specifications for field surveys, feasibility studies;
- drawing-up master plans, preliminary and detailed designs, dredging plans, environmental impact assessments;
